Pinched consumers cap growth
Further evidence that consumer spending is slowing sharply came yesterday, with the release of second-quarter figures on gross domestic product (GDP). Statistics SA said GDP in the sector that includes trade, as well as hotels and restaurants, shrank 2.2 percent.
