Icon Media-branded trolleys will be buzzing around selected Dischem stores, thanks to a new media partnership signed with the pharmaceutical chain - providing benefit to customers and an incredible point-of-purchase visual advantage for advertisers.

The partnership entails a rights agreement where the media company will provide two to six carts to 26 of the retailer’s stores from February 2008, with more branches to be added soon. The media company will then open the available advertising space to various clients. This unique media platform is sure to pique the interest of cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies who wish to have their brand top of mind with the retailer’s shoppers.

R350 million expansion plan for Eastgate

Liberty Life Properties has announced a R350 million expansion programme at Johannesburg’s Eastgate shopping centre. New restaurant and retail space will introduce a lifestyle component to the shopping experience and add 12,000m2 to the gross lettable area, taking the total area to 121,000 m2.
