The UK’s largest supermarkets have raised dairy product prices, ignoring a previous warning and increasing consumer costs by about £270 million (R3.8 billion).

 

September 21, 2007 The UK’s largest supermarkets have raised dairy product prices, ignoring a previous warning and increasing consumer costs by about £270 million (R3.8 billion). If their collusion with dairy processors is proven to be anti-competitive, retailers face fines of up to 10 percent of related sales. Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s all said they would vigorously defend any allegations. – Reuters, London
