Retail sales in the euro zone fell for the first time in three months in May, the Bloomberg purchasing managers’ index showed yesterday.

New York – Retail sales in the euro zone fell for the first time in three months in May, the Bloomberg purchasing managers’ index showed yesterday.

A gauge measuring retail sales declined to a seasonally adjusted 48.4 from 54.6 in April. Even after the decline, retailers were more optimistic that they would exceed sales targets in June amid an economic expansion. – Bloomberg
